New play equipment at Clearwell

Last week saw the official opening of the recently installed play equipment at Clearwell Recreation Ground.

The project to replace the dilapidated equipment began four years ago. A small, hardworking group of villagers have fundraised throughout this period - the final sum raised was some £12,000.

The Recreation Committee thank Newland Parish Council, Diana Organ (MP), the lottery (a grant of £7,500) and everyone who has supported the effort. But especially the Stanford family of the Wyndham Arms, who raised £1,000 at very short notice to allow the work to be carried Out in time for the school holidays.
